Tiny Islands

Fiji is surrounded by hundreds of Islands, some of the smaller inhabited islands are there for tourism such as South Sea Island and the raving Beachcomber Island. When you first approach these small islands on the Catamaran they look amazing, and quite surreal just poking out the top of the ocean.

Snorkelling at Mango Bay

Today I got out snorkelling for the first time on this trip. It’s been a while since I’ve snorkelled and I forgot how much I enjoyed it, it was amazing! The biodiversity found in the waters just off the shoreline is unbelievable. After speaking to some of the locals I found it was easiest to walk around the headland towards the south before entering the water as the currents flow north to an outlet, therefore, once I was in the water I effortlessly glided along in the currents looking at a huge range of sea-life with a huge range of size and colour… some a bit sketchier looking than others! A lot of the reef in this location has died but not bad for my first snorkelling experience of the month. Shoulders and neck are a bit red tonight too.
